The SzC Programme will be a design replica of the plant currently under construction at the Hinkley Point C site in Somerset. A key objective of the SzC Programme therefore is to achieve and maximise replication across the two plants to optimise learning opportunities, minimise design costs and accelerate the development schedule where possible.
The MEH Alliance is looking for an I.T. Project Manager (PM) to join the SZC team.
As part of your responsibility, you will report to the SZC MEHA Alliance PMO Lead and will work alongside the SZC PDO and SZC MEH Alliance colleagues to lead the definition and delivery of the complete MEH Alliance digital Information and Data environment. This role will be required through the lifecycle of the SZC MEH scope of works.
- Chair of the SZC MEH I.T. SteerCO
- Lead the production of all data and information strategy papers covering HPC replication, CDE, IS, IM and IT solutions
- Lead the establishment of the SZC MEHA Identity
- Responsible for ensuring that the security policies and requirements are followed, during the development of core IT infrastructure
- Lead Client engagement ensuring alignment to overarching IM principles
- Lead the resolution of IM Arrangements and EDRMS issues
- Lead the definition of Exchange of Information Requirements (EIRs), Project Information Requirements (PIRs), and Asset Information Requirements (AIRs)
- Development of an executable scope, schedule, cost, risk baseline for the I.T. scope of works, which will provide the right tools at the right time for the SZC MEH project.
- Project Manage the above-mentioned baseline through to completion
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery: Create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Project Management: Day to day management and leadership of the SZC MEH I.T project and the project team. Provide effective leadership and management controls. Set project controls. Design the project structure and organisation appropriate to stage. Set appropriate delivery methodologies. Manage effective transition between project phases. Supported by PMO colleagues.
- Business Case: Develop and draft the SZC MEH I.T. Business Case, with input from specialists as necessary.
- Budget: Develop the budget and track delivery within budget. Supported by PMO colleagues.
- Resources: Identify skill requirements; and deploy and develop resources. Manage medium sized team.
- Benefits Realisation: Deliver the agreed Business Case benefits and outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management: Identify and manage stakeholder relationships and need for senior level and Client support. Manage internal and external relationships as appropriate.
- Risks and Issues: Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. Identify and work with related projects to manage interdependencies. Supported by PMO colleagues.
- Governance: Chair the I.T. SteerCo and support effective governance and decision making.
- Assurance: Engage with assurance reviews and support action on recommendations. Organise assurance processes such as gateway reviews, as required.
- Guidance and Support: Provide support, guidance and coaching for the MEH project team.

- Experience of heavily regulated, high hazard industry
- Engineering or Project Management Degree Qualified or Equivalent
- APM Professional or equivalent
- Charter IT Professional or equivalent
