Job Description
The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the challenging role of Area Lead on site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, Somerset.
As Area Lead - N3/N4, you will provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. Ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the interfaces between the MEH partners and subcontractors to ensure project delivery
- Lead at a senior level, manage and motivate the Project Construction Team through implementation of Best Practice.
- Manage the planning and execution of construction of a specific area on a day-to-day basis.
- Liaison with all MEH Alliance departments for Design, Procurement, Project Management and support functions along with the Clients stakeholders on construction matters.
- Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being implemented in support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
- Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements
- Ensure weekly & monthly reports are compiled and produced in a timely manner for upward review
- Ensure resource to meet organisational requirements are available in line with the delivery schedule.
- Ensure the project is delivered on time, budget & quality, and reported as per the HPC requirements.
Experience Required
- Proven track record in operating at a senior level on a construction site
- Proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector, preferably in nuclear
- Experience and knowledge of Electrical Safe Systems of Work
- Experience working on major construction projects
- Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures

Qualifications Needed
- Specific degree or equivalent training and experience qualifications in line with the requirements
- Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering)
- Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
- CCNSG Safety Passport
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH
