Job Description

The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, is seeking an experienced Caulking Project Engineer to join the team on Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Your responsibility will be to act as the primary schedule interface between planning department and Discipline Lead, as well as analysing the caulking lists.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the temporary services teams to ensure allowable openings only are used during construction
  • Assist EPM Delivery team in sequencing and product selection according to construction constraints
  • Create documentation required for installation of caulking products
  • Liaise with cable pulling teams for job card updates when using modular products
  • Maintain, communicate, and update Risk register for this activity
  • Liaise with RD for specific drawings, solutions and ensure all details are reviewed before mobilisation – create TQs, ERs, as necessary.
  • Manage the training of the workforce according to the specification for caulking works
  • In situ review of configurations to ensure qualified solutions always prepared – if not, manage request for qualification or prepare the necessary justification document.
  • Manage labelling of the openings
  • Drive delivery of documentation from Site teams, Supervision, supplier(s) and follow-through on NNB backlogs in support of supplier(s) deliveries. 
  • No budgetary accountability, but responsible for assuring no commitments made outside authority.
  • Other support to delivery of the Programme objectives as identified by PM and others. 
  • Support the development of Joint Management Team and collaborative working to reinforce working behaviours against agreed principles and objectives.

Experience Required
  • 2+ years’ Experience in managing Caulking scope, technical knowledge of caulking Products and Systems
  • Professional Qualification level – Degree / NVQ3 or equivalent
  • Nuclear experience a priority
  • Communication skills – First class communication and presentation skills.
  • Results orientation – Understanding the required results and focusing to achieve them.
  • Drive and resilience – Determination to succeed in situations and adapt effectively to new situations.
  • Planning and organisation – Working in a structured and thoughtful way whilst demonstrating initiative. 
  • Teamwork – Working closely with colleagues to achieve a common goal.
  • PM career path, but willing to learn and apply project management and organisational skills, which has been gained through practical experience.
  • Good written and oral skills, basic IT literacy, able to communicate effectively.
  • Undertake individual working to a high level of attention to detail.
Qualifications Needed
  • Planning experience and capability of directing schedulers is a must for the role.
  • Experience working in high integrity, regulated industries necessary.
  • Commercial awareness and cost control exposure very much desirable though not essential.
