Job Description

The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the challenging role of Quality Management Lead on site at Bridgwater, Somerset.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • To be the single point of contact for all quality related elements for their assigned portfolio of contracts placed within suppliers to procure mechanical, electrical or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
  • Support the creation and compilation of quality requirements into the works information and all through the Invitation to Tender process, including supporting technical capability audits of suppliers.  
  • Review, accept and monitor CQAPs provided by the supply chain and support Quality Auditors in the prompt resolution of audit findings within the supply chain.
  • Ensure quality management processes are correctly applied and the supply chain quality outcome is achieved using Project Quality Control Plans.
  • Supporting the determination and application of strategies for the progressive provision of Life Time Quality Records (LTQR) by contractors and lead implementation of LTQR reviews.
  • Ensure manufacturing surveillance per contract is applied in a graded approach through surveillance offers and performance monitoring of inspection agencies.
  • Coordinate, monitor and improve the efficiency of manufacturing documentation review and inspection activities performed by sub-contracted inspection agencies.
  • Support the monitoring and technical resolution of manufacturing non-conformances including the management of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Responsible for the review and delivery of the end of manufacturing records, leading to the quality release of equipment to the HPC construction site.
  • Support the review and acceptance of End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMR).

Key Deliverables:

  1. Produce Project Quality Control Plans (PQCP) for each contract; 
  2.  Issue a manufacturing surveillance plan per contract on a graded approach of equipment safety function and project importance and ensure it is applied; through surveillance offers and performance monitoring of internal/external inspection agencies used.
  3. Perform joint inspections when required and issue visit reports;
  4. Complete checklists to support acceptance during quality release of equipment to the HPC construction site;
  5. Produce quality documentation (e.g. specifications, procedures) as required to support the works information.
     
Experience Required
  • Broad experience of implementing a variety of quality related solutions 
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • Proven leadership experience working in a quality assurance/control environment within the nuclear industry or other relevant safety critical industry.
  • Proven experience of interaction and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment. 
Qualifications Needed
  • An HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification in a mechanical, electrical or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) discipline. 
  • Hold a professional accreditation
  • Corporate Member or working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional
  • Commercial exposure, especially supplier management
