Job Description
Accountabilities:
- The management of commercial team providing world class commercial support to a complex portfolio of contracts (over £300m in capital value) within a highly collaborative and integrated Alliance environment.
- The commercial management of contracts in accordance with NNB governance requirements to meet NNB HPC Project and business objectives.
- Consideration of the nuclear baseline and distribution of nuclear safety significant responsibilities within the team.
- The successful execution of, and maintaining compliance with, the procurement process during the Procurement phase (pre-award).
- Leading a team in the commercial management of contracts during the execution phase (post-award).
- Leading a team in the delivery of contract final account agreements (close out).
- Professional development of self and people within the team.
- Engagement where necessary with the UK regulators (ONR / EA / CNS).
- Engagement where necessary with Key (internal and external) Project Stakeholders (EDF / CGN).
- Ensuring that all Principal Accountabilities for the Commercial Team are implemented in accordance with the NNB Supply Chain Catalogue and NNB commercial procedures.

Team:
- The role has 3-5 direct reports, providing commercial support to the Package/Project Manager.

- Part of a portfolio of contracts (over £300m in capital value)
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience: (as per MEH matrix)
- Degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent).
- Relevant professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering etc.)
- Can achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).
- Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major EPC projects
- Experienced in delivering and operating at a Leadership Level
- Experienced in working in a Joint Venture or Alliance environment
Attributes and Skills Required:
- Highly developed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on matters of high financial value.
- Good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.
- Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
- Experience with most common Forms of Contract (NEC & FIDIC) within the power construction industry and major projects and programme environment; with particular knowledge of UK Law and its impact upon the contract and commercial function is essential.
- Familiar with the nuclear site licence conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy.
- Good understanding of the UK regulatory framework.

Working Pattern of Attendance and Location:
- SDC, Bridgwater 2/3 days per week and 3/2 days working from home.
