Job Description

The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the challenging role of Area Access Lead on site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, Somerset.

As part of this role, you will take ownership of documentation to enable construction works as per the level 4 plan. E.g. T-6 months Building Strategy for Access and Temporary Works accepted prior to handover to Area Leads.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Delegation of responsibilities to CE’s. Lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice.  
  • Ultimately accountable to deliver working documents 
  • Define boundary of scope of works 
  • Liaising with necessary SME’s and client counterparts 
  • Delivering RAMS & CWP in accordance with client requirements/works information 
  • Governance of application of GSS System and its integration strategy 
  • Working alongside HI Vis platform with the aim of maximising schedule compliance
  • Prioritisation of access requirements across the MEHA Scope 
  • Prioritisation of Temporary Works requirements across the MEHA Scope 
  • Ownership and driving of deliverables from conception to A-Accepted status >90% first time accepted criteria 
  • Prioritisation and ownership of documentation to enable construction works as per the level 4 plan. E.g. T-6 months Building Strategy for Access and Temporary Works accepted prior to handover to Area Leads  
  • Support to building/area leads as necessary through requests via line management 
  • Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures 
  • Directly report to the Area Lead Site Wide or nominated deputy. 
  • Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. 
  • Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements 
  • Review and feedback on suitability of level of resource to effectively run the support function 
Experience Required
  • Proven track record in nuclear power preferred 
  • Experience working on major construction projects  
  • Experienced in delivering and operating at a Team Manager, including experience working within Joint Ventures 
  • Positive, can-do mentality 
  • Proven track record of success. 
  • Strong leader with collaborative nature 
  • Ability to reach sensible compromise position 
  • Strong focus on team performance, training, mentoring and integration with client and Alliance teams. 
Qualifications Needed
  • Degree Qualification (or Equivalent) 
  • Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering) 
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher) 
  • IOSH managing safely
