Job Description

Our client is one of New Zealand's largest and most trusted recruitment companies, specialising in the supply of skilled staff. They are looking for welders and fabricators for jobs in Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua, Hawkes Bay, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Most areas of the country require MIG experience, Arc welding is not enough. Applicants need to be confident and experienced with MIG welding. If an applicant has TIG experience this is a bonus. Applicants from a mining background will only be considered if they have experience outside this sector or have strong Mig welding skills.
  • If an applicant only has Tig Welding we may still be able to consider but options may be limited and will be determined case by case
  • Formally qualified and coded welders are preferrable
  • Applicants that have experience in Stainless and Aluminium are also desirable
  • Requirement to have worked in an Engineering environment (workshop or site-based). A lot of work is construction based e.g. new buildings, structural work as opposed to just repairs and maintenance

Experience Required

At least 3 years’ experience and preference for a formal welding qualification. If no formal qualification, then we will consider how many years the applicant has been working as a welder.

What is in it for you

Depends on area/location and also experience ($30 - $35 starting contract rate typically) – but we will consider higher rates on a case-by-case basis depending on the applicants’ years of experience/formal qualifications/NZ experience (if any)
