Our client is one of New Zealand's largest and most trusted recruitment companies, specialising in the supply of skilled staff. They are looking for drain layers for jobs in Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Hawkes Bay, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown.
- Applicants must be comfortable with drainlaying and the labouring elements that go along side this e.g. digging trenches, laying pipes,
- Experience on civil projects and infrastructure/earthworks environment is preferrable
- The role is hands on so candidates need a good level of fitness
- Equipment operating experience is a bonus but not essential
- Work can also include assisting in upgrading of council and government water, stormwater and wastewater systems.
PGDB (Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board) assessment preferred but we can also look at applicants that have not done this. At least 3 years’ experience in drainlaying and/or a formal qualification. We would also consider Drainlaying Labourers.
Depends on area/location and also experience ($30 - $35 starting contract rate typically) – but we will consider higher rates on a case-by-case basis depending on the applicants’ years of experience/formal qualifications/NZ experience (if any)
