Job Description

Our client is one of New Zealand's largest and most trusted recruitment companies, specialising in the supply of skilled staff. They supply workers into a variety of sectors, including builders, carpenters, plumbers, welders, scaffolders, electricians, plumbers, concreters, drivers, fitters, engineers and plant operators.

They are looking for hard-working and reliable UK qualified electricians with a practicing license to work on the City Rail Link Project.

The City Rail Link (CRL) Project is the largest transport infrastructure project currently being undertaken in Aotearoa New Zealand. When complete this world-class rail system with its 3.45km twin tunnels, new underground stations at Aotea and Karangahape, and a redeveloped transport hub at Mt Eden will better connect the city's entire rail network.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Installing power supplies for construction sites in accordance with current regulations and standards
  • Achieving industry codes of practice and ensuring they are complied with
  • Determine requirements for installation of appliance/equipment e.g., type, size, position, consulting with client or supervisor as necessary
  • Installing and testing earthing systems in accordance with regulations and standards, and completing necessary documentation, e.g., certificate of compliance.
  • Installing switchboards to current regulations and standards
  • Installing and testing luminaries in accordance with current regulations and standards
  • Performing electrical testing in accordance with current regulations and standards and completing required documentation.  
  • Providing support to the team leader
Experience Required
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position
  • Need to be registered with the EWRB and hold a current electrical practicing license
  • HV Experience would be an advantage
  • Must possess the ability to interpret and understand wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict time constraints
  • Have the ability to problem-solve technical issues
  • A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to the carrying out of all prescribed electrical work.
