Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensuring the generation of contract and commercial management deliverables, including reporting against progress to internal and external Stakeholders.
- Lead on the identification, analysis, and management of contract and commercial risks, issues, and assumptions.
- Maintain a knowledge and awareness of all applicable legislation to ensure compliance in everything we do (eg. Public Contract Regulations and the Procurement Act);
- Ensure contract and commercial management of services and projects placed through frameworks including monitoring, reporting and assurance activities against progress.
- Provide support and guidance to both internal parties and external customers and suppliers.
- Provide and support the Procurement and Strategy team, giving advice on creating fit for purpose terms and conditions;
- Lead on service project transition and development of commercial service documentation and processes (e.g. quotations, plans, risk registers).
- Lead in the establishment of new supplier relationships and appropriately strengthen and maintain existing relationships.
- Manage and assist the review of the C&CM Internal management systems to align with, and cope with, new service requirements for contract management and the wider NWS business.
- Deputising for the Head of Commercial Delivery as required
Experience Required
- Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline with relevant experience or; Professional qualifications in relevant field with relevant experience in contract management covering a range of services. (e.g. MCIPS / RICS);
- CIPS Level 5 minimal requirement;
- Appropriate practical knowledge and experience of the NEC suite of contracts including experience of a range of NEC Main Options;
- Strong commercial & contract awareness and able to demonstrate experience in public sector procurement & contract management;
- Ability to manage and lead a team of individuals;
- A demonstrable ability to deal with stakeholders across a broad range of management levels and technical expertise;
- Excellent collaborative communication skills (written and oral)
- Proven ability to develop and communicate commercial strategy, as well as overseeing its implementation
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Experience of public procurement regulations, or alternative structured procurement system, to support the further competition processes.
- Complex service contract mobilisation, management & close out
- A full UK driving licence
