Job Description

A great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a company that is involved in some high value projects with large power, oil & gas operators.

Based in Teesside they have a wealth of experience delivering projects and providing a range of services across the full lifecycle of an asset.

Key Objectives:

  • Ensure awareness of contractual obligations and commercial matters within the Region.
  • Forecast, control, monitor and report upon cost and revenue internally and externally.
  • Adhere to company procedures and practices.
  • Optimise managed assets to meet corporate objectives in line with company accounting practice.
  • Provide support, assistance and co-operation to the Regional Commercial Manager.
  • Preparation of payment applications, reconciliation and agreement of final accounts and resolution of any issues related to payment of invoices

 
Main Activities:

  • Together with the Senior Commercial Manager provide advice and guidance to the Operations team ensuring they are aware of commercial arrangements and their part in the processes.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the commercial functions at designated sites within the Region.
  • Produce, control and monitor internal monthly Reports and any others necessary for the proper control of the projects.
  • Monitoring and reporting of monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Produce, control and monitor externally to customers any agreed commercial reports.
  • Process and manage contracts through to their final accounts to ensure that revenues are optimised and costs are properly controlled
  • Ensure maximum payment is received promptly to optimise profitability and cash flow.
  • Compilation and updating of excel based Project Trackers to accurately monitor contract revenues and costs
  • When applicable draft claims in respect of loss and expense incurred and progress same through correspondence and meetings with clients.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HND or equivalent in a relevant subject with preferably experience in a similar role within a contracting organisation
