Job Description

A great opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a company that is involved in some high value industrial projects with large power, oil & gas operators.

Based in Yorkshire they have a wealth of experience delivering projects and providing a range of services across the full lifecycle of an asset.

Key Objectives:

  • Responsible for the management of the tender process on allocated tenders including co-ordination with Proposals and Operational staff to ensure high quality submissions which will assure for a balanced workload and the achievement of the annual budget, business plan and strategy. 
  • Main Activities:
  • Responsible for the management of estimates from receipt through to final submission and contract award.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate appropriate pre-tender and pre-submission meetings.
  • Undertake an analytical risk assessment of all tenders.
  • Apply a commercial view to producing tenders.
  • Make presentations to potential customers.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Estimating Procedures.
  • Liaise with other Regional Operating centres to provide information and data for tender submissions
  • Record and maintain accurate turnover of client estimates with ultimate achievement of profitable contracts.
  • Assist Business Development with Pre-qualification submissions.
  • Undertake a debrief on unsuccessful tenders. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HNC in Engineering, Commercial or Project Management discipline.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • A broad knowledge of the industry requirements and a broad understanding of the various stages of project development.
  • A positive and innovative approach seeking to project the company to best advantage.
  • Proven negotiating skills and expertise necessary to interface with senior management both within the Regions and corporately.
