Job Description
A leading engineering and industrial support services company, employing people throughout the UK and Europe in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets
Key Objectives:
- To develop the strategy for purchasing of approximately £20m of goods and services across the four divisions of the UK business to ensure the company uses its market position to lever industry leading supply chain arrangements.
- To ensure an appropriate procurement process exists balancing the need for control and authorisation with a lean process to facilitate efficient operational functionality.
- To develop close, long-term relationships with key suppliers to assure certainty of supply and mutual benefits including emphasis on continuous improvement through the introduction of new product lines.
Main Activities:
- Identify, tender and implement supply chain framework agreements for major supplies leveraging best value for the Company
- Review the existing procurement process and recommend improvements balancing internal control with a lean and efficient process
- Understand the key delivery and performance indicators for each product and apply appropriate incentivisation metrics
- Create an environment of continuous improvement initiatives from the supply chain to drive mutual added value
- Audit regional procurement activities and ensure compliance with national frameworks and capex approval requirements
- Convene regular supply chain forums to generate learning and best practice
Qualifications and Experience:
- Membership of CIPS
- Experience in a similar role.
- A broad knowledge of the industry requirements and a broad understanding of the various stages of project development.
- Proven negotiating skills and expertise necessary to interface with quality and performance.
