Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Bid Autor for the North of England within the Nuclear Work Winning Team.  Reporting to the Nuclear Business Unit Growth and Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for writing compelling technical solutions and accompanying supporting documentation in response to received ITT’s, RFQ. RFI’s and PQQ’s from potential customers.

About the Role:

  • Write original material that is clear, compelling and persuasive for inclusion in the bids, tender and other proposals processes, and inclusion in the knowledge library
  • Ensuring all technical solutions are compliant and credible
  • Writing different solutions for a variety of industrial/nuclear sector disciplines, applying winning techniques and principles to customers across the UK Civil Nuclear Market.
  • Helping our customers understand our value proposition and what we offer to support their own business
  • Keeping ahead of the competition and presenting information in the best way to achieve a successful outcome
  • Source, edit, proof read and re-write content/material as and when required
  • Being part of a professional team that works hard to achieve excellence
  • Where a bid is unsuccessful; gaining, interpreting and addressing feedback to ensure learning is captured and applied to future technical solutions

About You:

  • An English language degree or equivalent – you must have excellent written communication skills, including accurate use of grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary, and presentation of text
  • ExperienceExperience of Bid Writing – we are particularly keen to hear from you if you have a background, or competent skills gained from exposure to bid processes, or experience of technical writing within an nuclear and/or industrial market sector or commercial environment
  • Previous experience of working in a knowledge management / information support role would also be preferable
  • Demonstrable administration skills – working in this fast-paced environment you will need to ensure your technical solutions are presented in line with bid programmes and timelines
  • A high-level of IT literacy, particularly in MS Word and PowerPoint (InDesign is desirable although not essential)
  • A tenacious individual, who is not only a confident and creative writer, but thinks and acts collaboratively whilst providing consistency and clarity of content
  • A highly-organised individual – it goes without saying that you will possess exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • A clear, confident, articulate communicator – both verbally and written, who has the natural ability to interact with individuals at all levels
