Job Description

The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, comprising an MEH JV made up of Altrad Services, Balfour Beatty, NG Bailey, Cavendish and Doosan in alliance with EDF Nuclear New Build (NNB), is seeking experienced candidates to fill new and challenging Survey CAD Support Technician role on site at Bridgwater, Somerset.

As a Survey CAD Support Technician with the MEH Alliance, your role will include digitisation of issued works information and the development of workflow systems to better support the wider Survey function.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • To create and implement temporary mechanical & electrical building services design solutions for the Hinkley ‘C’ Common Building Services
  • To ensure the integration, technical assurance, compliance, health, safety and sustainability of design and engineering to enable compliant defect free handover for operational service, delivered to programme and budget.
  • Coordination with the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor ensuring regular flow of information to comply with meeting the requirements of CDM
  • Digitalising issued works information.
  • Creation and development of workflow systems.
  • Create 2D drawings for disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Ventilation and support solutions.
  • Interrogation of 3D model and Information Modelling.
  • Space coordination, space management and clash avoidance for all disciplines.
  • Maintain personal expertise and knowledge to ensure that the business stream is at the forefront of the industry both technically and in using the latest technologies and standards
Experience Required
  • Proficient in the use of Excel including advanced formulas and macros.  
  • Proficient in the use of drawing set-up in accordance with national standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Proficient in the interrogation of 3D models.
  • Ability to proactively work and contribute as part of a large team.
  • Effective skills in planning, organising and prioritising personal workload.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and other parties
  • Knowledge of the basic principles, terms and procedures of engineering.
  • Working knowledge of drawing revision and issuing protocols.
  • Experience in interpreting basic sketches, plans and specifications.
  • Previous working knowledge of relevant systems, equipment, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to achieve BPSS clearance to work in the UK
  • IOSH Managing Safely (preferred)
  • CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport
  • Must have relevant experience as a MEP CAD technician in major projects environment.
  • Proven track record in nuclear power preferred
  • Experienced in delivering and working within Joint Ventures 
Qualifications Needed
  • HND/HNC in civil or construction or mechanical engineering with 5 years’ experience working in a Project Engineering/Construction role, or 10 years’ experience in a Project Engineering/Construction role.
