This role represents an exciting and challenging opportunity for a motivated person to join an industry leading department within a fast moving, world class business where they can make a real difference in a highly sought-after role within the industry.
Comprehensive in-house and external training and mentoring will be provided to further skills and develop talent, along with support for progression to Incorporated or Chartered engineer status with engineering institutes should this be of interest.
- Design of all types scaffolding projects, mainly in the petrochemical and energy industries, both onshore and offshore.
- Production of drawings using the latest AutoCAD, Revit and other Autodesk software.
- Creation of detailed engineering calculations in accordance with the relevant British and European standards using both Excel based calculations and structural analysis software where required.
- Production of all relevant documentation in adherence with company procedures, CDM regulations, British Standards and Industry Guidance.
- Frequent travel to operational sites throughout the UK for surveys and meetings.
- Liaison with company managers, supervisors and foremen, as well as client representatives to ensure optimum solutions are reached.
- Provision of guidance, advice and technical support to management and supervision.
- HNC, HND or Degree in civil, mechanical or structural engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the design of scaffolding structures is preferred – experience in temporary works, civil, mechanical or structural design may also be considered.
- Team player.
- Problem solve, organise, prioritise and deliver within a high-paced environment.
- IT literate and fully proficient in the use of Autodesk products and Microsoft Office. A working knowledge of structural analysis software would be a distinct advantage although training will be provided.
- Commitment, drive and the ability to work on one’s own initiative.
- A full U.K. driving licence will be required.
