Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Mechanical Section Engineer on our Torness site in Dundar, Scotland.

As Mechanical Section Engineer, you will plan, provide engineering control and supervise production resources, ensuring compliance with project and company systems for a defined section of the works.

Roles and Responsibilities

Health, safety and environment

  • Comply with company procedures and legal obligations
  • Promote and comply with environmental compliance
  • Deliver the works safely

Quality

  • Promote best practice Comply with Company procedures
  • Ensure work is delivered defect/snag free
  • Carry out instrumental checks in accordance with the agreed guidelines and schedule
  • Complete records of quality audits in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales i.e. at the end of works
  • Give feedback to the Site Agent regarding areas where corrective action needs to be taken with the appropriate level of urgency, of the risks associated with non-conformance during inspections

Engineering control

  • Understand and interpret the drawings and specifications
  • Provide engineering expertise and support to the project team
  • Ensure accurate implementation of all engineering controls
  • Produce accurate 'as built' records of the works
  • Produce Inspection and Test Plans for all elements of the works and supervises the delivery of the plan
  • Measure and report compliance with systems and required standards
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works
Qualifications Needed
  • CPCS A61 Blue Card holder
  • ECITB's Moving Loads
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Trained to NVQ 5
