Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Mechanical Scoper to join our busy Altrad team at the Fawley Refinery.

Your role will be to report to the Mechanical Delivery Manager to manage the effective and efficient operation of the site on a day-to-day basis through the completion of nominated key tasks and any other duties as required.

  • Suitable and sufficient risk assessments are followed and signed onto. 
  • Record and report delays as appropriate.
  • Accurate recording of any required information
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Mechanical Delivery Manager and client to ensure programmes of work are carried out to agreed standards (Quality, Safety, Environmental etc.)
  • Support with scoping packages of work, estimate works and complete work packs
  • Remain in dialogue with the client to ensure a quick response to requirements
  • Produce all daily timesheets and attend planning meetings
  • Manage labour in safe and efficient manner, ensuring maximum efficiency and high productivity is achieved
  • Manage liaison with client on all contract matters in assigned operational area
  • Liaise with Mechanical Delivery Manager on all Altrad requirements
  • Maintain safe working environment for self and others
  • Ensure good standards of housekeeping and efficient use of resources
  • Regularly ‘touch’ technicians in the field
  • Monitor and review personal safety plans 
  • Ensure the value of JSAs are identified, complied accordingly and actively used as a ‘job-aid’
  • Review and where applicable raise new JSAs
  • Ensure sufficient quantity of quality LPOs within work team (1:400)
  • Complete 4 V&Vs in any given month
  • Ensure the job pack is available to your work party and fully understood by all.
  • Ensure identification of Task Risk Assessments (TRAs ) when job require one 
  • Raise, submit and receive permits in accordance with the requirements of the work permit procedure
  • All delays and disruptions should be captured by the MCR process
  • Accurate recording of information both for lessons learned and costs
  • Ensure all redundant plant equipment is off hired in a timely manner

LPS

  • Lead the monthly Week 1 LPS meetings and detail feedback to week 2
  • Apply LPS and site safety standards on a continuous basis in the field in line with the operatives’ daily job starts and Toolbox talks
  • Actively “safety touch” field personnel, be safety leaders and promoters of safe working practices and site standards
  • Identify and escalate any risk to safety to your line manager
  • Deliver safety KPIs
Experience Required
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual
  • Ability to produce reports
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately with limited supervision
  • Willingness to undertake further training to ensure skill levels continue to meet the needs of the Client

  • Willingness to take on Commercial responsibilities

  • Mechanical discipline
