Job Description

The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, comprising an MEH JV made up of Altrad Services, Balfour Beatty, NG Bailey, Cavendish and Doosan in alliance with EDF Nuclear New Build (NNB), is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the new and challenging role of Logistics Lead.  

MEH Alliance Logistics is responsible for managing a centralised logistics service provided by an NNB Nominated Supplier and the successful candidate will be closely involved in all aspects of managing this circa £20M p.a. contract.

MEH Alliance Logistics will work with NNB and other Tier 1 Logistics Contractors on HPC to ensure safe and just-in-time delivery of £1.2Bn of material and equipment, to 4,000 rooms, spread across 75 buildings, over the next 5 years.  

To demonstrate the scale of the scope:

  • The £1.2Bn comprises: £350M of bulk material, £250M of stock from strategic suppliers and £600M of Equipment.
  • The scope includes:
  • Complex and bespoke pipe spools that would stretch from London to Carlisle if laid end to end;
  • 27,000 valves;
  • Electrical cable that could connect London to Thailand;
  • Tens of thousands of other significant plant and equipment items varying from high value items to the largest drum screen in the world at 70t.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: 

  • Experience in site-based centralised construction logistics (not transport and warehousing) at a senior level;
  • Experience of managing multi-million pound contracts;
  • Experience of direct line management of an operational workforce;
  • Experience in complex stakeholder management, both internal and external.
  • It would also be advantageous, but is not essential, to have experience in how Nuclear materials asset management impacts on logistics activities.
