The Waste Consultant Support role provides essential coordination and administrative support to the Expert Team, helping identify, develop, and manage opportunities that grow the organisation’s expert waste‑management services. You will also work closely with the Customer and Expert Team and the wider Waste Services department to ensure the successful delivery of departmental objectives and strategic priorities.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
Project & Meeting Coordination
- Arrange internal and external meetings and workshops, including preparing agendas, briefing packs, and tracking actions through to completion.
- Support event management activities such as customer and supplier days, optioneering workshops, and other facilitated sessions.
Data, Reporting & Systems Support
- Collect data from multiple sources and prepare internal and external reports and dashboards.
- Regularly update, cleanse, and maintain information within Waste Services IT systems.
- Act as a System Administrator for Waste Services IT platforms, supporting development, testing, and rollout of new system functionality.
Documentation & Communication
- Create or contribute to internal processes, procedures, and external customer communications.
- Provide secretarial support for boards and committees, including minute‑taking and liaison with members.
- Support marketing activities such as customer surveys, case studies, brochures, guides, and customer profiles.
Service Desk & Improvement Activities
- Coordinate Waste Services Service Desk activities, ensuring smooth operation and timely responses.
- Support improvement projects, including horizon scanning and market/industry research to identify opportunities and trends.
- Assist with wider corporate initiatives and cross‑departmental objectives.
