The Senior HSE Advisor plays a key role in ensuring that health, safety, environmental and welfare standards are consistently achieved across the project. As an integral member of the site‑based, integrated H&S team, the Senior HSE Advisor provides competent guidance, supports safe working practices, and drives continuous improvement across a multi‑disciplinary environment.
HSE Advisory & Support
- Provide competent HSE advice across a multi‑functional, multi‑discipline project.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with relevant policies, plans, and procedures.
- Build strong working relationships with Tier 1 contractors and the Principal Contractor to support collaborative safety performance.
Monitoring, Inspection & Assurance
- Monitor employee and contractor working practices to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and welfare requirements.
- Conduct HSE inspections in line with the Assurance Schedule.
- Record findings from audits and inspections in accordance with HSSE Management System requirements.
- Observe and document ‘At Risk’ and ‘Reduce Risk’ behaviours, intervening and offering solutions when unsafe practices are identified.
- Upload all findings into the site reporting tool.
Engagement & Continuous Improvement
- Proactively engage with site Safety Representatives to support a positive safety culture.
- Share best practices and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement across the project.
- Support the wider HSE team by undertaking additional tasks commensurate with the role.
Workforce-Facing Leadership
- Maintain a strong presence on site, acting as a visible and approachable HSE representative.
- Promote safe behaviours and encourage open communication regarding safety concerns and improvements.
