Discipline Engineers are responsible for delivering discipline‑specific construction scope to support project execution. This includes full lifecycle ownership—from planning and installation through to acceptance—of components and systems within their technical discipline. The role requires strong coordination, technical oversight, and a proactive approach to safety, quality, and schedule performance.
Construction Delivery & Technical Oversight
- Manage the safe, high‑quality, and timely delivery of discipline‑specific construction activities through close liaison with other project groups.
- Oversee the cradle‑to‑grave installation of components within the assigned discipline.
- Act as the point of contact for subject matter experts (SMEs) and client counterparts to resolve technical queries and ensure alignment.
Documentation & Configuration Control
- Ensure all discipline documents comply with the latest works information and MEH documentation.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, ensuring periodic reviews and revisions where required.
- Own and drive deliverables from initial development through to A‑Accepted status.
- Prioritise and manage documentation to support construction activities in line with the Level 4 plan.
Continuous Improvement & Process Support
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, procedures, and ways of working.
- Provide feedback on resource levels, tooling, and equipment required to effectively deliver the discipline support function.
Leadership & Team Management
- Report directly to the Building Lead or nominated deputy.
- Provide line management to team members and deputise for the Building Lead when required.
- Lead, motivate, and guide the team using best‑practice approaches to drive performance and collaboration.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Demonstrate strong HSE leadership and promote a positive safety culture throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety, site licence, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify risks, escalate issues appropriately, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
