The Coatings Construction Planner works closely with construction, planning, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure all coatings‑related activities are accurately planned, aligned with Level 3 and Level 4 schedules, and supported by reliable, up‑to‑date data. The role is central to maintaining schedule integrity, monitoring performance, and driving efficient delivery while supporting a strong Nuclear Safety Culture.

Job Responsibilities

Planning, Scheduling & Data Management

  • Produce and maintain live planning and scheduling programmes, incorporating accurate data critical to achieving key milestones.
  • Interact daily with construction teams to ensure real‑time, accurate progress data is captured and reflected in planning outputs.
  • Develop detailed planning formats and reporting structures using mature, reliable data to support project decision‑making.

Cost, Procurement & Resource Integration

  • Liaise with procurement and commercial teams to incorporate cost profiles and resource expectations into schedules.
  • Monitor productivity and resource utilisation, ensuring reviews are completed and reports are available at required intervals.
  • Report variances in material usage that may impact progress or productivity.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track progress and productivity against the plan, interfacing with construction teams to identify variances and risks.
  • Monitor change management during interface sessions and escalate concerns promptly.
  • Provide clear, timely reporting to support construction leadership and project controls.

Technical & Construction Support

  • Use planning expertise to assess the practicalities, constraints, and risks associated with construction activities.
  • Challenge construction strategies and planning detail to ensure best‑for‑project outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance construction methods and planning processes.

Safety & Culture

  • Lead and foster a positive Nuclear Safety Culture across all planning and construction interactions.
  • Ensure all planning activities support safe, compliant, and responsible site operations.
