As part of this role, you will prepare documentation to support the delivery of Engineering Projects and Environmental and Sustainability assessments.
The role will develop to manage a small team of Technical Authors and deliver a consistent approach to Management System documentation and technical authoring to support the Team.
- Work collaboratively with the Engineering Team and Environment & Sustainability Team to write and format technical information to support the Engineering Function
- Produce procedures, guidance, and other relevant management system documentation and provide technical author support throughout the Engineering Function
- Extract information from technical documentation, engineering standards and processes and turn this information into easily understood text
- Meet with subject matter experts, intelligent customers to support the development of technical documentation
- Collaboration with various technical teams to ensure the validity of technical documentation
- Manage the publication of technical documentation to the appropriate platform
- Maintain the live documents within the management system
- Collate information for inclusion and publishing on the Engineering intranet page
- Peer Review of Quality Plans
Essential
- Previous experience as a Technical Author or similar within an engineering/technical function
- Delivery of high-quality documents with an excellent level of attention to detail
- Excellent written English skills including technical and procedural language typical in Engineering documentation
- Appropriate Engineering or Technical qualification (HND/HNC minimum or equivalent)
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
