Job Description

The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Lifting Support to ensure an appropriate level of programme risk is associated with the planning and execution of work scopes; assumptions, risks and opportunities are to be accurately communicated to all stakeholders in a reasonable time frame.
 

Roles and Responsibilities
  • To ensure accuracy of data through Scope Capture process.
  • To accurately create Scope/Specifications from construction drawings. 
  • To produce and update weekly plans/comms to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • To assist in the identification of trending data and change, including analysis of schedule impact and the generation of performance indicators.
  • To actively seek opportunities for cost saving exercises (i.e. re-use of plant and equipment/assets).
  • To adhere to Project Governance; Client standards and wider procedures.
  • To prioritise workloads within the team. 
  • Directly reports to the Lifts and Hoists Project Engineer
  • Assist in the identification of stakeholder requirements and scope capture.
  • To assist in the analysis of design, build and installation proposals for Lifting frames, hoists, lifting beams and Construction Lifts including; Temporary Electrical, Temporary Works Procedures, Lifting, Temporary Works, HVAC and Logistics. Analysis shall factor in design, cost, supply lead times and contractor required by dates. 
  • To plan and maintain visibility of programme dates, durations and milestones.
  • To request internal resource to ensure Temporary Services are designed and installed on site in a just in time basis.
  • Liaise with Cost Engineers and Quantity Surveyors to accurately forecast cost models.
Experience Required
  • Track record in lifting or fabrication projects preferred. 
  • Experience working on major construction projects preferred.
  • Experienced with NEC contract frameworks preferred.
  • Positive, can-do mentality.  
  • Proven track record of success. 
  • Strong leader with collaborative nature. 
  • Ability to reach sensible compromise position.
Qualifications Needed
  • NVQ 3 in a technical or construction related discipline.
  • 3-4 years’ experience in a construction/project engineering-based environment. 
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft office including good level of understanding in Excel. 
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher).
  • CCNSG Safety Passport or HSE MAPS.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH.
