Job Description

Altrad Employment Services is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the challenging role of Procurement Manager.

As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement, administration and close out of all partner supply and subcontracts.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Compliance with procurement and nuclear safety process.
  • Lead critical partner procurement such as Weld Consumable, Hydrostatic Testing. 
  • Liaise with Construction and develop a Partner TES
  • A key member MEH Partner Procurement Team. 
  • Raise subcontracts in accordance with NNB governance requirements to meet NNB HPC Project and business objectives.
  • To resolve any blockers, including holding other functions to account for the timely provision of information, and thus drive the on-schedule achievement of gateways.
  • Identify procurement scope gaps and look to mitigate via fast-track procurement via the Partners 
  • The successful execution of, and maintaining compliance with, the procurement process during the Procurement phase (pre-award).
  • Engagement where necessary with Key (internal and external) Project Stakeholders (EDF).
Experience Required
  • Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major EPC projects
  • Experienced in delivering and operating at a Senior Level
  • Experienced in working in a Joint Venture or Alliance environment

Attributes and skills:

  • Highly developed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on matters of high financial value.
  • Good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.
  • Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
  • Experience with most common Forms of Contract (NEC & FIDIC) within the power construction industry and major projects and programme environment; with particular knowledge of UK Law and its impact upon the contract and commercial function is essential.
  • Familiar with the nuclear site licence conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy.
  • Good understanding of the UK regulatory framework.
  • A positive ‘can do’ mentality
  • Leads by example, sets the right behaviours, demonstrates a “best for project” ethos
  • Can think laterally and flexibly to deliver solutions, with a ‘process driven’ focus to delivery
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, liaising effectively with peers, other functions, delivery partner and client teams
  • Able to demonstrate accountability for their own actions and take responsibility 
  • Demonstrates ability to reach sensible compromise positions
Qualifications Needed
  • Degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent).
  • Relevant professional Accreditation (RICS CIPS etc.)
  • Can achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).
